DIRECTIONS
- Heat oven to 350°F. Combine first 5 ingredients in medium bowl; set aside.
- Beat butter and powdered sugar in large bowl with electric mixer until light and fluffy. Beat in extract. Stir in flour mixture just until combined.
- Shape level tablespoons of dough into 36 balls. Arrange on cookie sheets 1 inch apart. Gently press 1 whole almond into center of each ball. Sprinkle with granulated sugar.
- Bake 16 to 18 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool on pans 3 minutes. Remove to wire rack; cool completely.
