INGREDIENTS

7-8 pounds
fully-cooked spiral-sliced or bone-in ham

red onions, quartered

carrots, cut into 1-inch rounds
6 cloves
garlic
2 tablespoons
vegetable oil
1 cup
dry white wine
6 slices
uncooked bacon, cut into small strips
3/4 cup
honey, divided
2 tablespoons
red wine vinegar
3/4 cup
finely chopped Fisher® Walnut Halves & Pieces, toasted
1 tablespoon

DIRECTIONS

  1. Heat oven to 350°F. Place ham on rack in roasting pan, fat-side up. Press cloves into surface, spacing apart. Spread ¼ cup honey over surface of ham. Arrange onions, carrots and garlic in pan around ham; toss with oil. Pour wine into pan.
  2. Bake 1 hour 45 minutes to 2 hours, or until internal temperature of ham reaches 155°F in the thickest part.
  3. Meanwhile, add bacon to cold skillet with ¼ cup water. Cook on medium heat 5-8 minutes or until water is evaporated. Drain drippings, reserving 1 tablespoon in pan. Add vinegar and remaining ½ cup honey to bacon in pan. Simmer on medium heat 5-8 minutes or until thickened, stirring often. Cool. Stir in Fisher® Walnuts and mustard. Pour over cooked ham and serve with the vegetables.

Tips

Enjoy leftover ham in sandwiches or omelets.
To toast walnuts, spread onto ungreased baking sheet. Bake in 350°F oven for 8-10 minutes or until one shade darker in color, stirring occasionally.
