INGREDIENTS

6 tablespoons
sugar, divided
1/4 cup
water
2 tablespoons
honey
1
cinnamon stick
1/2 teaspoon
lemon zest
1 teaspoon
lemon juice
3/4 cup
chopped Fisher® Walnut Halves & Pieces
1 tablespoon
butter
1/4 teaspoon
ground cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon
ground cloves
1 package
frozen mini phyllo dough shells (15 pieces)

DIRECTIONS

  1. Heat oven to 350°F. Combine 4 tablespoons sugar, water, honey, cinnamon stick, lemon zest and juice in small saucepan. Bring to boil on medium-high heat. Simmer on medium-low heat 10 minutes. Cool. Remove cinnamon stick.
  2. Place Fisher® Walnuts, remaining 2 tablespoons sugar, butter and spices in food processor. Pulse until combined. Spoon about 1 tablespoon mixture into each phyllo shell. Place on baking sheet.
  3. Bake 10 minutes or until filling is set. Cool 15 minutes, then pour honey syrup over bites. Refrigerate leftovers.

Tips

Press down gently on inside of phyllo shells before filling in order to remove any bubbles.
