INGREDIENTS

Biscuits
2 cups
flour
1/4 cup
finely chopped Fisher® Walnut Halves & Pieces
1 tablespoon
baking powder
1 teaspoon
sugar
1/2 teaspoon
table salt
1/2 cup
(1 stick) cold unsalted butter, cut up
3/4 cup
milk
Filling
1 quart
fresh strawberries, sliced
1/4 cup
chopped Fisher® Walnut Halves & Pieces
2 tablespoons
sugar
1-1/4 cups
heavy cream, whipped to soft peaks

DIRECTIONS

  1. For Biscuits: Heat oven to 375°F.
  2. Combine first 5 ingredients in large bowl. Cut in butter with pastry blender or fingertips until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in milk just until dough forms.
  3. Knead dough on lightly floured surface 5 times. Pat or roll lightly to about ½-inch thickness. Cut out 10 circles with 2-1/2-inch round cutter, rerolling scraps as needed. Place on parchment paper-lined cookie sheet.
  4. Bake 15 minutes or until golden brown. Remove to wire rack; cool.
  5. For Filling: Combine strawberries, Fisher® Walnuts and sugar in bowl.
  6. Split biscuits; fill each with about 2 tablespoons whipped cream and ¼ cup strawberry mixture.
