Almond & Candied Chocolate Bacon

Thick-cut candied bacon is half-dipped in chocolate and rolled in almonds.

INGREDIENTS

2 cups
brown sugar
1 tablespoon
ground black pepper
1 pound
thick-cut raw bacon
1 pound
semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 cup
Fisher® Whole Almonds, toasted, coarsely chopped

DIRECTIONS

  1. Heat oven to 350°F. Combine sugar and pepper in medium bowl then spread onto baking sheet. Press each bacon slice into sugar mixture, coating both sides. Transfer bacon to parchment paper-lined large rimmed baking sheet. Discard any remaining sugar mixture.
  2. Bake 10-15 minutes or until bacon is browned. Cool on pan 3 min. Cool completely on wire rack.
  3. Melt chocolate in microwave or stovetop as directed on package. Dip each bacon slice halfway into chocolate then immediately coat with Fisher® Almonds. Let stand on parchment paper until chocolate is firm.

Tips

To toast almonds, arrange on cookie sheet and bake at 350°F for 5-7 minutes or until lightly browned.
