INGREDIENTS

¾ cup
boiling water
1 cup
packed chopped pitted dates (about 6 ounces)
1-1/2 cups
all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon
baking soda
½ teaspoon
ground cinnamon
½ teaspoon
table salt
½ cup
(1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
1 cup
brown sugar
1
egg
3/4 cup
chopped Fisher® Walnut Halves & Pieces

DIRECTIONS

  1. Heat oven to 350°F. Line 9x5-inch loaf pan with parchment paper and prepare with nonstick spray. Pour water over dates in small bowl; let stand 10 minutes.
  2. Whisk flour, baking soda, cinnamon and salt in medium bowl. Beat butter in large bowl with electric mixer until smooth. Gradually add sugar, beating until well blended. Beat in egg. Add flour mixture alternately with date mixture, mixing well after each addition until blended. Stir in Fisher® Walnuts. Spoon into prepared pan.
  3. Bake 50-60 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pan 10 minutes. Remove bread from pan. Cool completely on wire rack.
