Combine mayonnaise, lime juice and red pepper in a medium bowl. Stir in crabmeat, ½ cup breadcrumbs, red peppers, green onions and pecans until well blended. Form into 8 patties. Place remaining ½ cup breadcrumbs on a plate or a pie plate, coat patties in breadcrumbs.
Heat butter in a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Cook crab cakes for 3 minutes on each side or until golden brown and heated through.
Combine all ingredients together in a medium dish until well blended.
Note: Sprinkle with additional pecan pieces after cooking, if desired.
