Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
Chop 1/3 cup almonds into small pieces. Combine almonds, flour, baking powder and salt in a medium bowl. Add butter and rub between fingers until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in ¾ cup half and half until mixture just holds together. Turn onto a lightly floured surface. Knead a few times until mixture is smooth and press into a ½-inch thick disc. Cut with a 2½ inch biscuit cutter. Combine scraps and press again to make 12 biscuits. Transfer to prepared cookie sheet and brush tops with remaining half and half. Sprinkle with reserved sliced almonds. Bake 20 minutes or until biscuits are browned and cooked through.
While biscuits and baking, combine butter, sugar, and salt in a small bowl with a rubber scraper until well blended. Add strawberry pieces and nuts and stir until combined.
