  • 3 cups all purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup chopped Fisher® Chef’s Naturals Walnuts, divided
  • 1/2 cup (1½ sticks) chilled unsalted butter, cut into ½-inch pieces
  • 1/2 cup plus 1 Tbsp. whipping cream, divided
  • 1/3 cup plus 2 Tbsp. pure maple syrup
  • 3/4 cup confectioner's sugar


  1. Preheat oven to 375°F. Whisk first 5 ingredients and ½ cup walnuts together in large bowl. Cut butter into flour mixture with your hands or a fork and work until mixture resembles coarse cornmeal. Stir ½ cup whipping cream and 1/3 cup maple syrup together in small bowl. Gradually add cream mixture to flour mixture, stirring just until dough comes together.
  2. Turn dough out onto lightly floured surface and knead gently until smooth, about 5 turns. Flatten dough into a 9-inch square; cut dough into 4 equal squares. Cut each square diagonally into quarters. Transfer triangles to baking sheet, spacing 2 inches apart.
  3. Bake scones until golden and tester inserted into center comes out clean, about 15 to 20 minutes. Transfer to rack.
  4. Whisk remaining 1 Tbsp. whipping cream and 2 Tbsp. maple syrup in medium bowl to blend. Whisk in confectioner's sugar to form thick glaze. Spread over warm scones, sprinkle with remaining ¼ cup chopped walnuts. Let stand until glaze sets.
  5. Note: Add a few drops of Maple Flavoring to glaze for a deeper color and stronger flavor.
