Thick-cut candied bacon is half-dipped in chocolate and rolled in almonds.
Ingredients
1 pound thick cut bacon
2 cups brown sugar
1 tablespoon black pepper
16 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 cupFisher® Whole Almonds
Directions
Prepare the candied bacon: Combine brown sugar and black pepper in bowl.
Sprinkle sugar/pepper mixture onto baking sheet.
Press each strip of bacon in brown sugar on both
sides and arrange on parchment lined baking tray.
Bake at 350°F for 10 to 15 minutes until bacon
is browned.
Allow to cool 3 minutes on tray. Transfer to
wire rack to cool.
Complete the dish:
Toast almonds: Place almonds on a sheet tray and
bake at 350°F for 5 to 7 minutes, until almonds are lightly browned.
Coarsely chop or pulse toasted almonds in food processor.
Melt chocolate chips using double boiler.
Dip each piece of cooled candied bacon into chocolate and then
immediately into almonds, coating about 1/2 of each piece. Lay on parchment and allow
chocolate to harden.
