This fresh twist on classic Blueberry crisp is comfort food at it’s finest. Fisher® sliced almonds bring a delicious dimension of crunch and texture, making this dessert an instant favorite with family and friends.
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup oatmeal
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1 tablespoon butter, softened
1/4 cup coarsely chopped Fisher® Chef’s Naturals Sliced Almonds
2 cans blueberry pie filling (21 oz. each)
Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease an 8-inch square baking dish.
Combine brown sugar, oatmeal, cinnamon, butter and almonds in a medium bowl. Rub mixture between fingers to form a streusel topping; set aside.
Strain pie filling over a bowl. After straining the blueberries, add in just enough strained gel to yield 3 cups of blueberry mixture. Place mixture into prepared pan. Top with streusel topping.
Bake for 20 minutes or until topping has browned and filling is bubbling. Serve hot or at room temperature.
