Caramel Apple Cake

  • Fisher® Walnut Halves and Pieces put a fresh twist on two of America’s favorite desserts- caramel apples and apple pie. The combination of flavors will have everyone begging for another piece! 


  • 1 package (1 pound 1.5 ounces) oatmeal cookie mix
  • 1/2 cup softened butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1 large apple, peeled, cored and chopped, about 1 1/4 cups
  • 3/4 cup chopped Fisher® Chef’s Naturals Walnut Halves and Pieces, divided
  • 12 caramel candies, unwrapped


  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a 13 x 9-inch pan with aluminum foil and spray with non-stick cooking spray.
  2. Combine cookie mix, butter, egg and 2 tbsp. water in a large bowl using a spoon until well blended. Stir in apple pieces and ½ cup walnuts. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the pan comes out clean. Let cool 5 minutes.
  3. Microwave caramels with 1 tsp. water in a microwave safe dish 30 seconds or until caramels are melted. Drizzle caramel over cookies and sprinkle with reserved ¼ walnuts. Gently press walnuts into caramel. Allow to cool completely before cutting.
