  • 6 medium apples
  • 3/4 cup chopped walnuts, divided
  • 1 package (14 oz.) caramel candies, unwrapped
  • 1/4 cup Karo®® Light or Dark or Real Brown Sugar Corn Syrup
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

  1. Spray a baking sheet with cooking spray; set aside. Wash apples using a brush or lightly rubbing with an abrasive plastic scouring pad to remove any wax; dry apples and insert a wooden stick into stem end. Place chopped nuts on a plate.
  2. Microwave caramels and corn syrup on HIGH (100%) in a small, deep microwave-safe bowl or glass 2 cups measure for 2 to 3 minutes or until caramels are melted, stirring after 2 minutes
  3. Dip apples in hot caramel mixture turning to coat well. Allow caramel to drip from apples for a few seconds, then scrape excess caramel from bottoms of apples, press bottom apples into walnuts, shake off excess. Place dipped apples onto prepared baking sheet.
  4. Melt chocolate a small microwave-safe bowl on HIGH for 1 to 2 minutes; stir until melted. Transfer chocolate to a plastic storage bag, secure top and cut a small piece off of one bottom corner. Hold apple by stick and drizzle with chocolate back and forth from stem to end of apple to create vertical lines. Sprinkle apples with remaining nuts. Refrigerate apples until caramel and chocolate are firm.
