Pecan Shortbread Hearts

  • 2 sticks unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup Fisher® Chef’s Naturals Pecan Cookie Pieces


  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  2. Mix butter and sugar in the bowl of an electric mixer until just combined. Beat in the vanilla extract. Stir in flour and salt until just blended. Add the pecans and mix on low speed until it forms a dough. Remove dough from bowl and press into a disc. Wrap in plastic and chill for 30 minutes.
  3. Roll the dough out until it is ¼-inch thick and cut into hearts with a small heart shaped cookie cutter. Place the cookies on an ungreased cookie sheet.
  4. Bake for 10 to 15 minutes, until the edges begin to brown. Allow to cool to room temperature and serve.
