  • Shortbread doesn’t have to be as straightforward as you think. With a tasty crunch of Fisher® Walnuts and a bit of Rosemary, it’s deliciously complex!

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon chopped fresh rosemary
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped Fisher® Chef’s Naturals Walnut Halves and Pieces, divided
  • 1 1/2 stick (3/4 cup) very soft unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons mild honey
  • 1/2 cup confectioner's sugar

  1. Preheat oven to 300°F. Line a 9 x 9-inch pan with aluminum foil.
  2. Whisk flour, salt, baking powder, rosemary and ¼ cup walnuts in a medium bowl.
  3. Mix butter, honey, and confectioners sugar in a large bowl until no large pieces of butter are visible. Stir in flour mixture and mix until dough resembles coarse meal. Transfer dough to prepared pan and press into a uniform thickness. Sprinkle with remaining walnuts and lightly press into top of dough. Bake shortbread in middle of oven until golden brown, 20 to 25 minutes. Cool completely in pan before cutting into pieces.
