It’s hard to beat a prime cut of filet. But with Fisher® Walnuts and homemade horseradish, we’ve managed to make it even better.
Ingredients
1/4 cup chopped Fisher® Chef’s Naturals Walnuts
2 tablespoons mayonnaise
2 tablespoons grated fresh horseradish or prepared white horseradish
1/2 cup panko (Japanese bread crumbs)
1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
1/4 teaspoon salt
4 packages 6 oz. Filet Mignon Steaks
Directions
Preeat broiler.
Combine walnuts, mayonnaise, horseradish, panko, thyme and salt in a small bowl until well blended.
Heat a large oven-proof skillet on high heat until pan is very hot. Sear steaks for 1 min on top and bottom then reduce heat in pan and cook for an additional 8 minutes, turning halfway through cooking for medium rare. Top each steak with ¼ of breading mixture and broil steaks for about 1 minute or until the crust has browned.
Note: For more accurate cooking, use a meat thermometer to take the temperature of the meat as it cooks. Cook to 135°F to 140°F for medium rare.
