Maple Spiced Oatmeal

Maple Spiced Oatmeal

  • For a Fresh Twist: Top with sliced bananas, diced apples or peaches, or mixed berries
    Top oatmeal with Fisher® Chef’s Naturals® Almonds, Walnuts or Pecans, or with pepitas or granola.
    Sprinkle with chia seeds or hemp hearts.
    Offer a small pitcher of oat milk or milk of choice to serve alongside.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup unsweetened gluten-free oat milk or dairy milk
  • 1/4 cup Fisher® Chef’s Naturals® Almond-Coconut Flour
  • 1 cup rolled oats (not instant or quick-cooking)
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup or brown sugar, plus more for serving
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 pinch ground nutmeg (optional)
  • Sliced bananas, diced apples or peaches, or mixed berries (optional) For food safety, gentry rub produce under cold running water.

Directions

  1. Mix water, milk and Fisher® Chef’s Naturals® Almond-Coconut Flour in medium (2 quart) saucepan and bring to boil over high heat.
  2. Reduce heat to medium. Add oats and cook until tender, stirring frequently, about 5 minutes (oatmeal will thicken as it sits).
  3. Mix in 1 tablespoon maple syrup or brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg, if desired.
  4. Spoon oatmeal into bowls. Drizzle with more syrup or sprinkle with sugar or use a little of both. Top with fruit, if desired.
