Shaved Brussels Sprouts with Walnuts and Parmesan Cheese

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pound brussels sprouts
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 cup thinly sliced onion
  • 1/2 cup chopped Fisher® Chef’s Naturals Walnuts
  • 1/2 cup shredded parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar

Directions

  1. Remove bottoms and outer leaves from Brussels sprouts. Thinly slice using a knife, or cut using a food processor fitted with a thin slicing disk.
  2. Melt butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sauté onion 3 minutes or until it softens and starts to brown. Add sliced Brussels sprouts and walnuts. Continue cooking about 5 minutes or until sprouts wilt and brown.
  3. Stir in cheese, salt and pepper and vinegar before serving.
