Our oatmeal recipe gets even sweeter and nuttier when topped with chopped walnuts and garnished with freshly sliced fruit.
3 3/4 cups water
2 cups roiled oats
4 teaspoons butter
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 cup non-dairy creamer
4 tablespoons milk
1/2 cupFisher® Chef’s Naturals Chopped Walnuts
sliced strawberries, bananas and/or blueberries for garnish
In a medium saucepan, heat water to a boil. Reduce heat to low; stir in oats. Cook until oats have thickened, about 5 minutes.
Place butter and 4 tablespoons brown sugar in the bottom of a bowl. Pour oatmeal into the bowl and stir until butter and sugar are melted. Pour non-dairy creamer and milk into bowl and stir until incorporated.
Pour mixture into 4 serving bowls and top each with another tablespoon of brown sugar and ⅛ cup walnuts. Serve hot.
Garnish with your favorite fruit, such as strawberries, bananas and/or blueberries.
