INGREDIENTS

1/4 cup
sugar
1 teaspoon
ground cinnamon
1 sheet
frozen puff pastry, thawed
1/3 cup
Fisher® Chopped Pecans

DIRECTIONS

  1. Heat oven to 400°F. Line baking sheet with parchment paper. Combine sugar and cinnamon in small bowl.
  2. Unfold pastry on work surface, brush lightly with water to moisten. Sprinkle half the sugar mixture over dough, pressing gently to adhere. Turn over, moisten with water, and sprinkle with remaining sugar mixture. Roll out to 12x12-inch square. Press Fisher® Pecans into dough.
  3. Fold over a 2-inch strip of dough from the left side toward the center; fold once again toward center. Repeat folding from the right side of dough to create 3 layers of dough on each side of the center. Fold the entire piece of dough in half to create a “U” shape.
  4. Cut dough into 12 cookies from top to bottom. Place on pan, cut-side up, spacing 1-1/2 inches apart. Pinch bottom center of each piece to form the point of a heart.
  5. Bake 13-15 minutes or until pastry is golden brown and dry. Cool completely on pan.
