Maple Walnut Overnight Oats

  • For a Fresh Twist: If more maple flavor is desired, glaze walnuts before adding, according to the optional tip below.

Ingredients

  • Maple Walnut Overnight Oats
  • 1/2 cup oats
  • 1/2 cup milk of choice (low-fat, whole, almond)
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon coconut chips
  • 1/4 cup Fisher® Chef's Naturals® Walnut Halves & Pieces
  • 2 tablespoons dried cranberries
  • 1/4 cup blueberries - for food safety, gently rub produce under cold running water
  • Optional: Maple Glazed Walnuts
  • 1 1/2 cup Fisher® Chef's Naturals® Walnut Halves & Pieces
  • 1/3 cup maple syrup
  • 1/8 teaspoon sea salt

Directions

  1. Maple Walnut Overnight Oats:
    A) Combine maple syrup, oats and milk. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
    B) The next morning, in a container of your choice, layer oats, walnuts, coconut and berries.
    C) Enjoy cold or microwave for 1 to 2 minutes for a warm treat.
  2. Maple Glazed Walnuts (Optional):
    A) Preheat a dry nonstick skillet over medium heat.
    B) Add walnuts, maple syrup and salt.
    C) Cook, stirring frequently, until syrup is caramelized and nuts are lightly toasted.
    D) Let cool.
